Summer Program Experience

As a summer associate, you will get a realistic sense of what you would do as a K&S lawyer. That means challenging work for our clients, interesting pro bono assignments and the opportunity to get to know your colleagues both professionally and personally.

Summer Program Training and Mentoring

You will receive hands-on training working with our lawyers, in addition to substantive training programs throughout the summer, and you will have an advisor who will give guidance on work assignments and help acclimate you to the firm. You will receive real-time feedback during the program.

Toward Greater Diversity

Diverse first-year students are eligible to apply for our Leadership Council on Legal Diversity 1L Scholars Program. Diverse second-year students are also eligible for our Diversity Fellowship Program, which confers a stipend and a summer associate position in one of our U.S. offices.

Applications for our LCLD 1L Scholars Program and our Diversity Fellows Program are currently closed.

2019 Summer Program

King & Spalding hosted 86 law students across nine U.S. offices in 2019. The summer program is coordinated by a team in each office, including the hiring partner, lawyers and recruiting staff who work collaboratively to ensure each summer associate has the right mix of substantive work, formal training, and social opportunities.
